Position Summary
This four-month co-op opportunity (May to August) offers hands-on experience in product design, manufacturing optimization, and problem-solving in a real-world engineering environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable industry knowledge while contributing to meaningful projects that enhance manufacturing processes and product development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the design and development of engineering solutions to improve product performance and manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development initiatives.
- Create and review engineering drawings, specifications, and prototypes under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Conduct feasibility studies and assist in generating cost estimates for design improvements.
- Support compliance efforts by ensuring designs align with industry standards and regulations.
- Utilize engineering software and tools for simulations, testing, and data analysis.
- Provide technical support to production teams and contribute to troubleshooting design or quality issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements

- Working towards a 4 year Mechanical Engineering degree
- Experience in a design and manufacturing environment is preferred
- Good project and time management skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- 3D modeling and detailed design using Solidworks or other parametric modeling program.
- Hands-on experience with prototype and model making
- Very good communication (verbal and written), presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both in diverse multidisciplinary team environment as well as individually with minimum supervision.
