Position Summary
This four-month co-op opportunity (May to August) offers hands-on experience in product design, manufacturing optimization, and problem-solving in a real-world engineering environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable industry knowledge while contributing to meaningful projects that enhance manufacturing processes and product development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the design and development of engineering solutions to improve product performance and manufacturing efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development initiatives.
• Create and review engineering drawings, specifications, and prototypes under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Conduct feasibility studies and assist in generating cost estimates for design improvements.
• Support compliance efforts by ensuring designs align with industry standards and regulations.
• Utilize engineering software and tools for simulations, testing, and data analysis.
• Provide technical support to production teams and contribute to troubleshooting design or quality issues.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• Working towards a 4 year Mechanical Engineering degree
• Experience in a design and manufacturing environment is preferred
• Good project and time management skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• 3D modeling and detailed design using Solidworks or other parametric modeling program.
• Hands-on experience with prototype and model making
• Very good communication (verbal and written), presentation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both in diverse multidisciplinary team environment as well as individually with minimum supervision.
