Role
Reporting to the COO, the Director of Project Services is responsible for overseeing Project Controls, Procurement and is responsible for the PMO office. This position plays a critical role in setting policies, driving change management initiatives, and ensuring the successful execution of projects across the organization. The Director will collaborate closely with executive leadership, business units, and stakeholders to enhance project governance, efficiency, and strategic alignment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the Project Controls and Procurement teams across North America.
- Establish and enforce project management standards, policies, and methodologies across the organization.
- Lead the development and implementation of project services policies, processes, and best practices across all projects.
- Oversee project controls functions, including cost, schedule, and risk management.
- Collaborate with Regional Directors and project teams to optimize resource allocation, ensuring projects are staffed appropriately for success.
- Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and best practices. Support project governance frameworks to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Implement and maintain best-in-class project control methodologies, tools, and reporting systems.
- Promote a culture of risk management, identifying potential issues early and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Provide mentorship and support to project controls, procurement and coordinators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure effective cost estimation, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management processes.
- Oversee procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with project and corporate objectives.
- Key stakeholder in supplier management relationships, processes, negotiations, and contract execution.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Drive cost efficiencies while maintaining quality and timely project deliver

Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in project management, project controls, procurement, or related fields, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, or a related field (Master's degree and/or PMP preferred).
- Experience in electrical or utility construction projects is highly preferred
- Strong leadership and people management abilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven experience in implementing and optimizing PMO processes.
- Ability to drive change management initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strategic thinker with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Expertise in project controls, risk management, and procurement best practices.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Highly proficient in InEight, Vista, P6/MS Projects and Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Ability to interpret contracts
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
