We are currently seeking a Journeyperson/Red Seal Electrician for a camp position on a 3 week in, 3 week out rotation, in Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut.
Responsibilities:
- Inspecting, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical components.
- Testing circuits and connections using electrical test equipment.
- Inspecting equipment and ensuring proper maintenance and repairs are completed, while adhering to timelines and budget restrictions.
- Responsible for ordering electrical parts
- Preparation and site clean-up, including rubbish removal.
- Proficient with building code regulations as it relates to worksite building electrical assembly and repairs.
- Assist in the completion of all necessary documentation as per process / protocol to ensure cost effectiveness and budget allocation.
- Provide quality workmanship consistent with industry standards and stakeholder expectations.
- Understand the basics of reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Participate in daily Toolbox meetings and support monthly work-site inspections.
- Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
- Notify Manager of unsafe practices and unsafe environment.
- Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
- Actively participate as a high performing, team member.
- Minimum of three (3) year working in a construction field/camp environment.
- Certified Journeyman Electrician (Red Seal)
- Service Experience in electrical (ability to set connections for live transfer)
- Electrical Controls experience considered and asset.
- Supervisory experience and ability to work without minimal supervision
- Solid verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work a rotation schedule.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Be in good health and physically capable to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Able to walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor.
- Ability to maintain a high level of performance over a 12 hour shift.
Required Knowledge & Experience
Preferred Licensing & Certifications:
- Valid Drivers License preferred (Class 1 or heavy haul endorsement an asset)
- Standard First Aid Certification.
- WHIMS Certification.
- Previous experience working in remote camp setting is required.
- Proficient in all aspects of electrical repair and replacement.

Salary Range
$500/day - $550/day depending on skills, experience and certifications.
