POSITION SUMMARY

Are you a skilled Tool & Die Maker looking for an opportunity to apply your expertise in a dynamic manufacturing environment? As a key member of our Tool & Die team, you will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and modifying precision tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauges that support the production of high-quality parts. Your craftsmanship will directly impact the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of our manufacturing processes. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Design, build, and modify precision tooling, fixtures, jigs, patterns, and gauges to optimize production efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and machinists to develop innovative tooling solutions that meet operational needs.
  • Interpret and create technical drawings and layouts, incorporating precise dimensions and problem-solving production challenges.
  • Set up and operate machine tools, ensuring compliance with tight tolerances and quality standards.
  • Perform finishing and assembly operations on dies and conduct test setups on presses to ensure functionality and accuracy.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot tooling-related production issues, providing solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain and repair existing tools, ensuring longevity and optimal performance in manufacturing operations.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
  • Certification: Must hold a Red Seal Journeyperson Tool & Die Maker certification or a Manitoba/Interprovincial Trade Certificate in Tool & Die Making!
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, engineering drawings, and reference charts.
    • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
    • Experience in manual and CNC machining operations (CNC programming knowledge is an asset).
    • Knowledge of press setup and die maintenance.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose tooling issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of tooling and manufacturing.
  • Teamwork & Independence: Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Safety Commitment: Strong adherence to workplace safety policies and procedures.
