Valsoft are looking for an experienced Group Head of Talent to recruit senior executive and investment roles to support our strategic growth.

The Role:

Valsoft is split into distinct Groups that operate the acquired companies, this position will involve working closely with the group leadership team of one such group to fill senior executive positions (CEO/MD/Portfolio Manager) and investment roles (from entry level to senior roles).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with group leadership to develop and implement targeted recruitment strategies to attract top M&A talent and senior executives.
  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of candidates (through direct headhunting efforts and networking) to increase the talent level of the team to support strategic growth and incoming acquisitions.
  • Understand the strategic, operational, and leadership responsibilities unique to executive roles, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry demands to effectively evaluate candidates.
  • Understand the unique demands of M&A roles, such as deal sourcing, financial modelling, integration expertise, and risk management to effectively evaluate candidates.
  • Understand the investment thesis of incoming acquistions to help select the ideal profiles to support these businesses.
  • Work with the group lead to help assess talent level and team composition.
  • Research industry trends, talent pools, and competitor hiring practices to stay ahead in talent acquisition.
  • Support the leadership team to develop talent pools and succession plans to address potential gaps in leadership or M&A expertise.

About You:

  • Have a proven track record of filling executive positions (CEOs, CFOs, MDs, Portfolio Managers, Investment Professioals).
  • Experience working in an executive recruitment firm hiring for investment/financial and executive roles is preferred.
  • Motivated, entrepreneurial and dedicated to help build and shape the future of the group.
  • Excellent communication, salesmanship and the ability to close candidates on opportunities.
  • Highly organized and capable of handling multiple recruitment requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada and can commute to the Montreal office.

Our recruitment process:

There will be 3 to 4 interview stages, consisting of a mix of remote and in-office interviews, each lasting approximately 45 minutes.
