We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to oversee, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of the engineering effort for projects, ensuring that technical engineering designs are completed in accordance with project scope documents. The Project Engineer will be accountable for engineering deliverables, managing scope, schedule, and budget, while ensuring that constructability, economic, and logistical reviews are carried out for the engineering scope.
This role is in the Saskatoon office, 8-hour days, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure engineering activities align with company standards and procedures.
- Prepare work packages, vendor packages, and facilitate design review sessions.
- Verify the design meets the project scope requirements and is fit for its intended purpose.
- Manage engineering scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring the project remains on track.
- Oversee engineering quality assurance and quality control processes on the project.
- Lead engineers and/or designers to produce designs for the discipline.
- Verify as-built conditions on-site and complete redline markups if needed.
- Gather input from all involved disciplines to ensure a comprehensive design.
- Monitor discipline design activities to ensure they stay on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure construction and commissioning teams provide quality turnover packages, including all inspection test plans (ITPs) and redline drawings.
- Conduct field inspections and support quality control during construction.
- Edit and approve commissioning and startup (CSU) documentation, including ITPs and completion of CSU activities.
- Provide technical support during the planning and execution of commissioning activities.
Requirements
- 7+ Years of Proven experience in multidiscipline engineering and commissioning.
- Strong background in technical engineering design and project management.
- Engineering Degree, with P.Eng designation.
- Knowledge of engineering quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Ability to manage engineering scope, schedule, and budget effectively.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead engineers and designers.
- Previous experience in overseeing field inspections and verifying as-built conditions.
- Ability to work collaboratively across different disciplines to ensure design quality and timely execution.
