The Safety Coordinator will work with the project and construction teams to ensure activities follow safety regulations and procedures. This will allow them to identify hazardous conditions and, where necessary, implement safe work procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspections and Audits:
- Carry out regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Engage in regular in-shift Safety Conversations with workers and reviews of Field Level Risk Assessments.
- Investigate incidents to discover causes and
Compliance:
- Monitor compliance with Sask Mines Regulations and the client's corporate and Site Safety Policies.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and inspections.
Safety Equipment:
- Ensure availability, functionality, and compliance of safety equipment.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential hazards and recommend solutions.
- Participate in the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies during reviews of Field Level Risk Assessments.
Field Updates:
- Document in-field progress of Capital projects where required
Ensuring all necessary permits are obtained and inspections are scheduled and completed.
- Oversee final inspection and hand over to client ensuring all documents are provided.
Shift rotation: 4 on (2DS, 2NS) 5 off, 4 on (2DS, 2NS), 5 off, 5 on (3DS, 2NS), 5 off, repeat

Requirements
- 5 + years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the mining or construction industries
- CSO designation
- Valid First Aid
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Suite of programs
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and reporting
