Requirements
We are seeking a dedicated Final Layout Artist to join our team at Bardel Once a shot wraps up in rough layout, it heads over to Animation. But the journey doesn't end there! If the camera needs a little extra magic—whether it's a tweak in framing or a smooth new movement—that's where our Final Layout artist steps in, adding the finishing touches that bring everything together.
The ideal candidate will have Final Layout experience in Feature Animation and a passion for cameras within the animation industry.
What you'll be doing:
- Perfect and polish the camera movement (e.g. adjust the framing and the timing of the movement to make it as impactful as possible, convey the emotion), making sure continuity in style and pace is maintained throughout the sequences and that the director's vision is brought to the screen.
- Set dressing, update sets as needed.
- Work closely with the Layout supervisor and Lead and the Animation team to ensure that the cameras are seamlessly integrated into the final animation.
- Incorporate feedback from directors and supervisors to improve quality.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as ..., to ensure seamless workflow.
- Troubleshoot and address issues, ensuring smooth integration into the pipeline.
- Work within project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ensure shots are optimized for performance in rendering and final output.
What you bring with you:
- Previous experience as a Final Layout or similar role in animation.
- A portfolio that demonstrates
- Great camera work in Animation (ie. framing, focal choices)
- Strong camera knowledge in Maya. Houdini a bonus!
- Experience with photography and cinematography a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively promote solutions, share knowledge, and incorporate feedback.
Benefits
Pay Range: CAD $1500 - $1800 per week
