POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for promoting a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging expert knowledge in LEAN & CI. The role involves consulting with stakeholders to identify opportunities and facilitating activities to support the deployment and execution of LEAN methods within the MCI Fort Garry and Pembina facilities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Facilitation

•Collaborate with the MCI operational team to define, launch, and drive strategic and operational initiatives.

•Support and participate in institutional planning, and problem resolution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

•Play a key role in supporting Operational Excellence efforts by identifying improvement opportunities and initiatives.

•Provide critical business insights by utilizing analytics and collaborating across functions to develop strategies, standards, and systems that enhance KPI and strategic lean performance for the business unit.

Lean

•Motivate, encourage, and coach employees in the expanded and consistent use of Lean Manufacturing principles.

•Support the execution of operational strategies to effectively manage and optimize processes within both the support and manufacturing environments. Structure and execute operational and strategic initiatives by developing work plans, gathering, and synthesizing relevant data, leading analyses, and developing final recommendations.

•Facilitate and coordinate special projects and initiatives as required.

•Support in the development of the CI roadmap and tool kit

•Establish a foundation for standard work, problem solving and continuous improvement

•Serve as a subject matter expert in the Continuous Improvement toolkit, including Problem Solving, Process Mapping, and Gap Analysis

•Deliver Lean programs and training workshops as required

•Facilitate improvement events and develop and execute lean manufacturing concepts (6S and lean Six Sigma)

•Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Engineering related education (preferred)
  • Formal LEAN or Six Sigma training
  • Formal facilitation training or experience
  • Experience leading & supporting complex operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Advanced problem analysis and solving skill.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years' experience in leadership, or facilitation and business support roles in both a manufacturing and administrative environment
  • Excellent, demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, time management skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with staff, management, prospective and current clients.
  • Proven ability to multitask and work with the senior management team.
  • Expert level skills in use of MS Office Suite.
