Requirements
POSITION SUMMARY: New Flyer is seeking a motivated and technically adept engineering co-op student to join our team as Junior Engineering Process Control Specialist. We are looking for a student specializing in mechanical or electrical engineering with a background in statistical analysis who is passionate about process improvement and statistical problem-solving. In this role, you will support Six Sigma and Red X problem-solving activities, while applying the DMAIC methodology to enhance engineering processes. You will actively participate in data collection and analysis, collaborate with engineering teams to identify root causes, and develop and implement solutions to improve product quality and process efficiency. You will also contribute to design changes, testing activities, and process control improvements.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
We are seeking candidates enrolled in a recognized mechanical or electrical engineering program, available for a co-op placement. Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. They should be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines. Experience in manufacturing and proficiency in MS Office is an asset. Familiarity with Unigraphics NX, statistical analysis software, or other design tools is also beneficial.
