Job Description:
NOTE: The start date for this position is May 2025 year for four months.
An opportunity exists for a Summer Student- Admin Assistant with the Transmission Field Operations team located in Acheson, AB. Reporting to the Manager, Telecom/P&C (Protection and Control) North, this position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing administrative support to the Field Operations Management team, Field Technologists and Transmission Line Crews.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support including, routine typing, meeting and event coordination, telephone coverage and reception duties, travel arrangements, expense statement preparation and other miscellaneous requests to help manage the Manager's commitments.
- Arrange and document weekly and monthly staff meetings.
- Generate and compile reports from SAP.
- Assist with a wide scope of accounting and general administrative procedures.
- Assist with the arranging and tracking of training/capability development for staff.
- Follow up and resolve issues regarding materials, backorders, invoices, etc.
- Assist in the creation of professional presentations using MS Office.
- Data entry into SAP and other databases, and retrieval of operational information regarding man hours, vehicle reports and expenses.
- Order office supplies, material, parts, test equipment and prepare shipping documents.
- Implement various electronic and hard copy filing systems.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Student enrolled in a degree or diploma program in business administration or equivalent program;
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Proven ability/experience in the above noted responsibilities;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously;
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to deadlines;
- A demonstrated team player with exceptional interpersonal skills;
- A demonstrated positive and proactive approach and the ability to be flexible in the work performed;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes;
- Proven track record of good attendance and performance.
