The Opportunity:
We're looking for a Mutual Funds, Senior Trader to join our Trading team.
Reporting to the Manager, Mutual Funds, the Mutual Funds, Senior Trader is responsible for insuring support and problem resolutions with all activities with Mutual Funds and plays a decisive role in placing daily Mutual Fund Trades for Portfolio Managers, Investment Advisors, and staff. Supporting the Manager, Mutual Funds, the incumbent will gain a broad range of knowledge and is responsible in maintaining a high degree of professionalism while ensuring high levels of client service satisfaction.

What your day looks like:
- Supports and performs daily executions of Mutual Fund trade orders Buys, Sells, and Switches on Dataphile
- Executes trades and cancellation orders via FundSERV if mandatory
- Supporting correspondent for Portfolio Managers, co-workers and various other Departments within the Firm to resolve escalated complaints, disputes or issues whether Client or system oriented and escalating when required
- Supports ongoing communications with Mutual Fund Companies, Regulators and Network providers to discuss and be kept abreast of any developments or changes in the industry
- Daily review of all executed and rejected trades
- Learning to calculate dilution loses or gains
- Monthly upkeep of duplicate Mutual Fund account numbers and dormant trades on the order book.
- Support PM's and staff with the different types of Mutual Fund products, back office system along with procedures and regulations
- Administers recurring Events for all PM's ensuring accurate processing
- Frequently answers to calls or emails with PM's or internally to resolve or address any issues in a Client's account and escalate when appropriate
- Revises and makes modifications to the Mutual Funds Procedure Manual keeping it up-to-date at all times
- Ensures accurate Client demographics information with Fund Companies is maintained for proper tax reporting
- Support various Departments by being a liaison between them and the PM's on issues which affect the day to day efficiencies of our businesses
- Identifies and recommends processing improvements in the Mutual Fund operations and administrative functions to enhance productivity and profitability
- Meets established service standards for problem resolution and customer service
- Analyze trends and recommend process or operational improvements with staff and PM's
- Supports PM's with understanding Dataphile, different entry types, modules and order book processing
- Resolve concerns with customer accounts. Forward complaints and errors to appropriate department in a timely fashion
- Escalates administrative issues found within Departments or staff which are discovered through interactions with PM's and internal staff
- Supports projects and follow ups to our Credential partners, fund companies and outside institutions to provide additional client services
- Recommend improvements to service quality where applicable; actively seek areas for improvement within Broker Solutions and the service provided to Credential partners and investors
- Identify areas for process improvement, makes the recommendations and once approved, implements them
- Supports senior team members to perform regular monthly, quarterly and annual duties
Requirements
Your experience and skills:
- Post secondary education
- 5 – 10 years of experience in the Investment Industry with a good understanding of Mutual Fund Investments
- Successful completion of the CSC & CPH or the IFIC
- Understanding of FundSERV N$M settlements; purchases, redemptions, switches, cash/reinvested and notional distributions, PAC/SWD's transfer-ins and outs, rollovers, exchanges, commissions and trailer fees
- Understanding of various Mutual Fund Products; Hedge, Pooled, Investment Trusts, Flow-thru shares, Linked notes, GIC's, HISA's and open-end Mutual Funds
- Recognizes and understands the regulatory rules governing Mutual Funds established by IIROC and MFDA
- Outstanding versatility with the ability to conduct with professionalism, build rapport and exercise resourcefulness and understanding
- Proficient computer skills and good knowledge of FundSERV, myserv, Broadridge, MS word, Excel, and Outlook
- Independent and self-motivated and understands when to escalate issues
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude; thrive in fast-paced environments and multi-task oriented
- Maintains the quality and operational excellence with the highest level of service
- Capable to achieve required objectives within the Company and regulatory requirements
- Attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks
- Strong organizational and time management skills; Strong customer service orientation
- Fluent communication skills in both English and French are required, with the ability to collaborate effectively with others

Salary
This position is posted with an expected salary range of $75,000 - $95,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
