TC Infrastructure Services Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced Directional Driller/Locator in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Crew foreman this position has a min of 2 years of experience in operating telecommunications/Construction equipment. This position requires the operator to know how to maintain and take care of the machinery that is being operated. In addition, the operator has the responsibility to create a safe working area around their equipment
Requirements
KEY (CORE) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a valid class 3A driver's license.
- Load and unload directional bore equipment in a manner that is secure and damage free
- Participate in Tailgate/Tailboard meetings, complete drivers logbook (conduct pre, en-route and post trip inspections)
- Maintains and records accurate daily drilling activities
- Read and interpret project plans, diagrams and locates.
- Possess a good working attitude
- Take direction from the crew Foreman
- Be willing to work a 10 hour day and different type of work shifts
- Be able to work in all climactic conditions
- Be willing to travel outside of their home area
- Be willing to handle trucks and tools respectfully and responsibly
- This position also requires the operator to assist in labor activities when required
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safe operation of several power and motorized tools and equipment
- Placing telecom structures and pedestals
- Place underground and overhead fibre plus copper cables
- Coupling conduit and pulling several different types of cables
- Be willing to operate yellow iron and trucks when required
- Be willing to access confined spaces and plant site conditions
- Follow safe working procedures while around heavy equipment and large trucks
- Understand utility locates and the ground conditions that are being worked
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- This position requires at least two years of experience in operating construction equipment
- Must be a min of 18 years old
- Requires two years of experience with minor maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Provide copies of all certificates/tickets i.e. WHMIS, CSTS, Frist Aid, Confined space, fall arrest
- Must have experience pulling trailers and operating a bucket and digger truck
- Be willing to advance their respective license to be able to transport equipment
- Must be local to Calgary
