We are hiring at Valsoft for a dynamic and experienced Tax Manager – US to join our growing team in Montreal!
The successful Tax Manager – US will play a mission-critical role in managing and overseeing all aspects of our company's tax compliance and reporting obligations in the United States. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and tax authorities to ensure our compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations while optimizing our tax position.

What your day will look like:
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of the company's US tax compliance, including federal, state, and local tax returns, extensions, estimated tax payments, and related filings
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of all required tax returns and disclosures in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations to assess potential impacts on the company's tax position and recommend appropriate strategies to optimize tax efficiency
- Lead and support tax planning initiatives to identify opportunities for tax savings, risk mitigation, and process improvements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, accounting, legal, and business teams, to provide tax advice and support on various business transactions, initiatives, and projects
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and government authorities to facilitate efficient tax compliance and resolution of tax-related issues
- Conduct research and analysis on complex tax issues, rulings, and regulations to provide guidance and recommendations to management and key stakeholders
- Support the tax provision process, including the calculation of current and deferred tax liabilities, effective tax rates, and related financial statement disclosures
- Develop and implement tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
About You:
- At least a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a similar discipline is essential
- Certified Public Accounting Designation (US or CAN) is essential
- At least 4+ years of relevant experience in US tax compliance in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department is a prerequisite
- Strong knowledge of US federal and state tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements is a prerequisite
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and build relationships across all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in supervising and developing staff
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
