The Mortgage Broker Manager (Principal Broker) will be responsible for overseeing the business conduct and compliance of the brokerage. You will ensure that all mortgage brokers and agents comply with the relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards. You will develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to meet the requirements of the Mortgage Brokers Licensing Act, Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario, Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, and other applicable laws, and regulations.

In addition to managing compliance, you will also provide guidance and support to mortgage brokers and agents, helping them navigate complex mortgage applications and deal structuring. You will collaborate with internal teams to optimize workflow processes and enhance efficiency within the brokerage.

Salary: $136,000 to $146,000 (To be Negotiated)

EDUCATION

• Completed College or Bachelors degree in Business Administration, management and operations,
• Commerce, Law or any related field.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 5 Years of experience in the mortgage industry and/or financial services industry

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as the chief compliance officer for the mortgage
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
• Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures in accordance with relevant laws and regulations
• Provide guidance, training and support to mortgage brokers and agents
• Review and evaluate complex mortgage applications
• Collaborate with internal teams to optimize workflow processes
• Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes
• Manage contracts
• Conduct Internal audits, assessments and investigations to ensure compliance with company polices and external laws and regulations.
• Ensure appropriate business/regulatory licensees are in place
• Create and maintain compliance risk management programs

Requirements

• Must have a valid mortgage broker license
• Extensive knowledge of mortgage lending and industry regulations
• Strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of the Mortgage Brokers Licensing Act and other relevant laws
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to manage and motivate a team of mortgage brokers and agents
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in using mortgage lending software and technology platforms
• Time management
