Client is a busy orthopedic surgery practice located near Markham Stouffville Hospital. We are seeking an experienced Medical Office Assistant trained in Accuro to join our team.

Job Summary:

As a Medical Office Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our medical team, managing patient records, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Your expertise in Accuro will be essential in maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information.

Responsibilities:

- Manage patient scheduling, registration, and billing using Accuro
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, both physical and digital
- Prepare patients for exams, procedures, and surgeries
- Assist with medical procedures and exams as needed
- Handle phone calls, emails, and faxes from patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers
- Process payments, manage insurance claims, and handle billing inquiries
- Maintain office supplies, equipment, and inventory
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow

Requirements

Requirements:

- Diploma or Certificate in Medical Office Assistant program
- Experience working in a medical office environment
- Training and proficiency in Accuro software, preferably with a recognized certification
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Familiarity with medical terminology, OHIP billing, and healthcare regulations

Nice to Have:

- Experience working in an orthopedic or surgical practice
- Certification in medical office assisting (e.g., MOA, CMA)
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMRs) and practice management systems (PMS)
