We are looking for a Project Estimator who will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for welding, piping, and Field Service projects. This role requires a strong understanding of welding, piping, CWB/TSSA inspection and certification requirements, material and labor costs, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in the fabrication and industrial sector and a keen eye for detail. It is crucial that our Project Estimator promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare accurate proposals from Request For Quotations for projects with a focus on welding, piping, and fabrication projects
  • Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
  • Create concept sketches and scope documents for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with project management, engineering, and field service to ensure successful execution of projects
  • Provide expertise knowledge to customers & team members to ensure projects are done accurately on budget & on time
  • Provide support and guidance throughout the entire project life cycle to ensure adherence to scope and budget
  • Provide guidance and feedback in the mechanical design review process
  • Develop extensive knowledge of product line, preferred practices and all applicable industry standards
  • Conduct site visits with customers, project management, and field service personnel to obtain field measurements and/or develop project scopes
  • Attend project kick-off meetings as required
  • Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements and address any concerns
  • Present estimates and proposals to clients and stakeholders
  • Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship
  • Provide professional and positive customer experience
  • In accordance with company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of College/University degree or diploma or equivalent job experience,
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project estimating within the welding, piping, or metal fabrication industries
  • Solid understanding of CWB and TSSA regulations, and the applicable certification requirements
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of material and labor costs, subcontractor pricing, and project scheduling
  • Proficient in estimating software and tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy
  • Able to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with CAD software and other relevant design tools an asset
  • Strong organizational, time and budget management skills
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license
