POSITION SUMMARY
As a key member of the paint shop team, this position will be responsible for a variety of painting functions including spraying, mixing, polishing, and operating painting equipment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Responsible for painting, decanting, verification, stocking, and finish painting.
- Review and interpret blueprints to identify proper paint colors and areas of application.
- Complete minor fibreglass repairs.
- Mix Axalta paint using activator and primer.
- Spray paint on large areas using a 1-quart gravity feed spray gun and/or a 2-quart siphon feed spray gun.
- Maintain spray guns and painting equipment through proper cleaning procedures.
- Utilize painting techniques to achieve desired results.
- Adhere to safety procedures as they apply to all equipment used in this position.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Previous automotive painting experience is required.
- Proven experience reading and interpreting blueprints to identify proper paint areas and colors.
- Exceptional knowledge of all preparatory work, paint and priming sequences and procedures.
- Have great interpersonal and communication skills.
- High attention to detail, precision, and accuracy.
- Prior experience with Axalta paints considered an asset.
