About the role:

As the VP Credit Risk, Modelling & Analytics, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of credit and account management models and strategies for point-of-sale consumer credit. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you'll also be responsible for the delivery of loss forecasting and portfolio analytics, as well as identifying and championing initiatives to improve risk management strategies and processes to increase revenue while minimizing losses. This individual will interact with senior management, product, operations, and other internal and external partners, providing value added risk analytics, reporting, and insight.

You possess a deep understanding of risk management principles, advanced modeling and analytical skills, and are able to effectively communicate with senior stakeholders in the business.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the credit risk modeling, analytics and reporting team, setting strategic direction and objectives aligned with the company's goals and risk management framework.
  • Oversee the preparation of risk reports for senior management, and other stakeholders, ensuring reports are delivered on time and to a high quality standard.
  • Ensure that loss reporting and any associated deliverables to support financial reporting under IFRS9 are developed, maintained and delivered within agreed timelines working collaboratively with the Finance team.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Summarize analytic findings, draw business conclusions, and present actionable insights and business recommendations to senior management.
  • Lead and mentor a team, fostering an environment of continuous learning and development.
  • Participate in strategic projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Math, Statistics, or Data Science required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in credit risk management, with a significant focus on modeling, analytics and reporting.
  • Proven leadership experience and the ability to manage high-performing teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in modeling and data analysis tools such as R, Python, SAS.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with senior management.
