THE OPPORTUNITY

The Systems and Reporting Analyst plays an important role in the day-to-day data management and the efficient functioning of our reporting systems. This position requires a strong blend of technical acumen, analytical expertise, and a keen interest in understanding the venture capital industry.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Reporting to the VP of Strategy & Operations, you will:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting systems to support organizational performance business intelligence and decision-making processes.
  • Analyze and interpret complex datasets to provide actionable insights and recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Manage and optimize the performance of data management systems, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and security.
  • Collaborate with leadership team to identify reporting needs and develop tailored solutions.
  • Prepare and present regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal and external use.
  • Serve as the internal lead for IT hardware and software management and liaise with third-party resources as required to ensure all systems are functioning optimally.
  • Oversee cybersecurity measures and other risk management protocols to protect company data and systems.
  • Proactively evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Create and maintain records management structures to ensure the storage and integrity of corporate data.
  • Other reporting and systems management duties as required.

WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS?

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in data and customer management and reporting tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Affinity, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of database structures, data warehousing, and data governance principles.
  • Experience with statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting insights and recommendations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Has a growth mindset and are passionate about making a difference in New Brunswick.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R is an asset.
  • Written and verbal communication in French is considered as asset.

THE LITTLE DETAILS

  • This role is based out of NBIF's Fredericton office located in Knowledge Park, however this is subject to negotiation. Occasional travel within the province may be required.
  • Office hours are 8:30 am-5:00 pm with the occasional evening event.
