Family Service Nova Scotia (FSNS) is a community-based provincial organization that has been offering a wide variety of programs and services to Nova Scotians since 1969. Supporting our service users is at the centre of everything we do!

POSITION: Families Plus Coordinator
Location: Cape Breton or Antigonish, NS, serving Eastern and Northern regions
Qualifications: Our Organization is seeking an individual with a Master of Social Work or Master of Counselling Degree who has experience working with families, program management and leading a team. This position is full-time permanent.
Position Requirements: The Families Plus Coordinator is responsible for program oversight which includes:
- Supporting FP Interventionists through Reflective supervision and leadership
- Quality assurance - ensure proper documentation and adherence to program model, complete program reports
- Coordination of collaborative meetings with the Department of Opportunities and Social Development.
- Implementation and maintenance of program model and evaluation tools
- Managing program budget
- Managing schedules for daytime on-call support
- Travel
The Families Plus Coordinator will work closely with their regional counterpart, program Director, service providers and community partners to ensure effective program delivery and support. They must possess strong leadership and time management skills, be willing to work flexible hours, engage in reflective supervision, promote culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices. The Families Plus Coordinator works from a relational and collaborative approach in service of families. The Families Plus Coordinator must also be willing to travel to support staff/program needs.
Persons considered for this position must have membership in good standing with their professional regulatory body, an active drivers' license, clear vulnerable and child abuse registry checks. Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority (all applicants should clearly indicate their status as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident).
