Office Administrator - Valley Business Hub

Location: Kentville, NS
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
Salary Range: $45,000-$50,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment? The Valley Business Hub (VBH) is seeking an Office Administrator to oversee day-to-day office operations and provide essential support to our team.

About the Valley Business Hub:

The Valley Business Hub is a shared space that brings together three business support organizations-Valley Regional Enterprise Network (Valley REN), Annapolis Valley Chamber of Commerce (AVCC), and CBDC Hants-Kings-to foster entrepreneurship and economic growth in the Annapolis Valley.

What You'll Do:

Reporting to the CEO of Valley REN and the Executive Directors of AVCC and CBDC Hants-Kings, the Office Administrator will:

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors and clients.
  • Manage office operations, including supplies, mail, and general upkeep.
  • Schedule meetings and coordinate bookings for boardrooms and training spaces.
  • Provide administrative support, including minute-taking, correspondence, and HR assistance.
  • Assist in event planning, from small meetings to larger functions.
  • Handle basic financial tasks, such as bank deposits and certificate of origin processing.
  • Support economic development initiatives by liaising with taskforce members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shared workspace.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum two years of experience in office administration or a related field.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Experience working with boards, committees, or municipal organizations is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends as needed.
