A. D. Fiander Associates Ltd. is an established and growing multi-disciplinary transportation engineering consulting firm that provides civil design, surveying and planning services across New Brunswick and the Maritime Provinces.

We have an immediate opening for a Civil Engineering Technologist to be based out of our Fredericton office.

SITE WORK - The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the construction of site work and roadway projects. These responsibilities include:

  • Construction observation and supervision;
  • Control and topographic surveys;
  • Construction layout surveys including grade staking;
  • Incremental and final as-built surveys; and
  • Volume quantification.

OFFICE WORK - The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the planning, design and drafting of general civil, grading and drainage, site work and roadway projects. These responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the development of roadway alignments, profiles and cross sections;
  • Assisting in the production of earthwork quantities and other material type estimates;
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical specifications;
  • General drafting and design drawing preparation; and
  • Quality control checks of drawing and tender packages.

POSITION DETAILS

  • A diploma from a recognized Civil Engineering Technology program;
  • Five to ten years of relevant experience;
  • Must be a member or eligible to be a member of the NBSCETT;
  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil3D;
  • Experience with Trimble (or similar) total station and GPS survey equipment;
  • Knowledge of the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) Geometric Design Guide;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Product Suite software;
  • Strong mathematical, organizational, prioritizing and time management skills;
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and willingness to travel;
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team;
