Yard Associate

Description:

The Yard Associate/Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to various locations while adhering to company policies and procedures. This role requires the ability to operate and maintain the assigned vehicle in a safe and professional manner.

Reports to:

The Yard Associate/Driver reports directly to the Yard Foreman.

Responsibilities:

• Operate assigned vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic rules and regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure that the vehicle is in good working condition.
• Load and unload cargo as needed.
• Plan routes and make timely deliveries to various locations.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, including delivery and pick-up times, mileage, and fuel usage.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
• Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, maintenance, and operation of the vehicle.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
• Minimum of 2 years experience in commercial driving
• Ability to operate assigned vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
• Knowledge of traffic rules and regulations
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
• Two years clean drivers abstract.
