Duties and Responsibilities Summary:

The Manager of Nursing and Clinical Projects (MNCP) provides pivotal leadership in the day-to-day management of Nursing Services, as well as strategic design, implementation and evaluation of clinical projects designed to support the clinical services portfolio to achieve strategic and operational goals. The Manager of Nursing and Clinical Projects reports to the Director of Clinical Services and Professional Practice. The MNCP is the point person for the implementation of Resident Centered Care and Collaborative practice to support the delivery of safe, effective and ethical care. Committed to reaching higher levels of quality service and evidenced based practice, the MNCP engenders a culture of inquiry and uses effective change management and process improvement tools to advance clinical practice and steward clinical projects. Through effective engagement strategies, the MNCP builds support coalitions with multiple internal and external stakeholders including clinical staff, physicians, management team and senior executive leaders to drive successful achievement of projects. The MNCP provides leadership in 4 key areas: Resident Centered Care/Collaborative Practice, Project Management, People and Financial Management.

Performance Requirements:

Demonstrated by a good attendance record and personal resiliency. The MNCP must exhibit effective project management skills and leadership qualities. He/She/They continuously evaluate their own skill and upgrades personal competencies as required to continue to be effective in the role. The MNCP accepts duties delegated by the Director of Clinical Services and Professional Practice and/or CEO that are within their personal competency base.

Employment Variables:

Seaview Manor is a twenty-four hour a day, seven day a week operation. The position falls within the scope of management and offers flexible hours, at the approval of the Director of Clinical Services and Professional Practice, to facilitate the work associated with the role.

Qualifications:

· BScN or equivalent of education and experience.

· Member in good standing with the NSCN.

· Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in LTC.

· Experience in Workforce Management/Scheduling.

· Knowledge of Civica/Momentum RAI Assessments and Care Planning.

· Proficient in Catalyst, Pathways and Microsoft systems.

· Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) and Wound Care.

· Project Management experience in a health care environment.

· Conflict Resolution experience.

· Experience in tracking, trending, and analysis of clinical performance data.

· Experience in quality and clinical process improvement and risk assessment preferred.

· Experience in staff development, training, and/or clinical education preferred.

· Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, organize efficiently, and manage time effectively.

· Demonstrated critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills.

· Knowledge of Inventory Control and Supply Management.

· Certified in Venipuncture.

· Must be available on call to the RN Supervisors.

· Available to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours as needed for resident care/services.
