Architectural Technologist

Vincent den Hartog, Architect has been specializing in architecture for rural landscapes since 1987. We capture the essence of Nova Scotia towns and scenic countryside in our commercial, public, and residential designs, creating exquisite, unique, and functional interiors and exteriors. Our office is located in beautiful Wolfville, Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia and we are looking to add an architectural technologist to our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Field Surveys:

• Collect information of existing buildings and sites: measurements, sketches and photos.
• Assemble field information into clear field survey documents.
• Create measured drawings in Revit based upon field survey work.

CAD/BIM Drafting:
Implement all aspects of CAD/BIM drafting in the office. This may include:

• preparing presentation, concept design and design development drawings and documents.
• assemble all technical information required for production of working drawings.

Other Tasks:

• Research materials and products.
• Assemble cost estimates.
• Co-ordinate drawings.
• Review shop drawings.
• Prepare technical documents.

QUALIFICATIONS

Construction:

• Diploma in Architectural Techology
• You enjoy researching design solutions to justify the choice of materials and construction methods.

Graphics:

• You strive to create clear, concise and legible drawings and documents.

CAD & computers:

• Revit is your software of choice to create design and construction drawings.
• You are excited to find better ways of using the software for increased productivity.

Personal:

• You work on tasks independantly but are willing to share your knowledge with others.
• You enjoy being creative to solve design problems.
