QUALITY CONTROL


Our client, MilAero Electronics Atlantic Inc., is a contract manufacturer of wire harnesses for customers in the Aerospace and Defence industries and is based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.


MilAero is growing rapidly. On their behalf, we seek a Quality Control person to ensure their products meet the highest quality standards.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: reports to the Quality & Process Lead


PURPOSE OF ROLE:
The Quality Control position is critical to ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards, adhere to industry regulations, and consistently exceed customer expectations. This person is responsible for inspecting components, subassemblies, and assemblies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interpret drawings and specifications to understand design/build requirements
• Perform visual/complex tests/inspections using instruments and equipment
• Document inspection filings
• Final inspection of outgoing finished assemblies
• Employee IPC-620 training and certification (Certified IPC Trainer)
• Report defects or problems to the management team


KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
• Internal: Quality & Process Lead, Production Lead, Engineering Lead, Technicians
• External: None


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• High School diploma
• At least two years of equivalent work experience in a relevant role or industry
• In-depth understanding /experience interpreting electrical/mechanical drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of IPC-620 workmanship standards and quality management systems desirable. Willing to be trained and may become a trainer.
• Understanding of general quality control standards and testing techniques
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Training skills
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Analytical and reporting skills
• Ability to use quality testing machines, tools, and systems

  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) - Canadian Citizen or Permanent Residency are mandatory


KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS:
• Customer defects
• Internal defects/rework
• Training plan success rate


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• This role requires regular interaction with production floor staff.
