Position: Event Planner
Employment Type: Temporary Contract
Hours: 16 hours per week (February-December). Additional hours on event days may be required.
Compensation: $25.00 per hour
Location: East Cumberland Lodge, 262 Gulf Shore Road, Pugwash, NS
Reports To: Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
About Us:
East Cumberland Lodge is a 74-bed long-term care facility that has been providing compassionate and high-quality care for 50 years. As we celebrate this significant milestone, our events will focus on honoring our rich history, excellence in care, and the incredible contributions of our residents, staff, and community.
We are seeking a talented and organized Event Planner to join our team on a temporary basis to design a comprehensive plan for our 50th-anniversary celebrations.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the CAO and stakeholders to create a detailed plan of events that highlights East Cumberland Lodge's 50 years of history and excellence in care.
Develop meaningful event themes and activities that celebrate the Lodge's legacy and engage residents, staff, and the broader community.
Research and recommend vendors, entertainment, and resources suitable for the planned events.
Create a timeline, budget, and logistics plan for proposed events.
Identify opportunities for partnerships or sponsorships to support the anniversary celebrations.
Prepare and present a comprehensive proposal for the event plan, including concepts, schedules, and resource needs.
Ensure all event plans comply with relevant regulations and health and safety standards.
Communicate with internal and external interested parties to gather input and finalize event details.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in event planning, coordination, or management.
A diploma in Event Management or a related field is considered an asset.
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Creative vision and attention to detail to design meaningful and engaging events.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in budgeting and resource allocation for events.
Familiarity with local vendors and services related to event planning is an advantage.
