Logistics Assistant – Freight

We're searching for a Logistics Assistant - Freight to join our team in Dartmouth, NS. To be truly successful in this position, you must have a positive attitude, a desire to work with the public, and the ability to quickly shift focus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handling and processing of all departmental payables
• Obtain and negotiate rates from carriers/agents as requested by team/manager
• Handling and processing of departmental client invoices with accuracy
• Handling and processing of any/all specified Import/Export Clients
• Updating Internal System and other Departmental working sheets as required
• Follow ISO/OHSAS procedures and requirements
• Support business development activities
• On-call support for afterhours as required

Qualifications:

• Freight forwarding and/or logistics experience is preferred
• CIFFA Professional Freight Forwarder (PFF) designation an asset
• Familiarity with CargoWise Freight Management Systems an asset
• Knowledge of Trade rules & regulations is an asset
