Engineering Technologist
Our organization is seeking a highly motivated and well-organized professional to fill the position of Engineering Technologist at our quarry in Lower Cove. We are looking for an individual who is detailed orientated and can work well in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs design and grading layouts by GPS for drilling and blasting along with communication to the blasting contractor to ensure each blast is scheduled when needed to meet production requirements.
- Work with mine planning group and monitor mining plan progression.
- Maintaining and reporting rock inventory to ensure there is an adequate supply of material for production.
- Tracking and reporting progression of mining activities and operations.
- Carries out site surveying (GPS, Leveling, Total Station). Ex. Concrete pad design, setting concrete elevations, designing slopes for pads/ditches
- Surveys and places data in AutoCAD and Civil 3D to keep drawings updated.
- Monitors geochemistry data for mining operations.
- Monitors stockpile inventory using survey GPS and Drones.
- Uses Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in a variety of functions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have completed a relevant Engineering Technology program from an accredited post-secondary institution. Experience in survey work is also required. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D would be a definite asset. Experience working in the mining industry is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Candidates must possess, and maintain, a valid driver's license.
