Description
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick (CPSNB) serves and protects the public by regulating the practice of medicine in the province. With over 20 employees, the CPSNB is currently seeking a legal assistant to work in the complaints department.
Key Responsibilities
As a legal assistant, you will support the operational administration of the complaints department.
Below is an outline of key responsibilities:
- Administrative tasks of a secretarial nature
- Case management on complaint files
- Telephone calls with patients and physicians
- Assist in the investigation of complaints
- Prepare documents
- Provide organizational support to the CPSNB as needed
Required Education and Experience
- Legal assistant diploma, other relevant post-secondary education, or relevant work experience
- 5+ years relevant work experience; or equivalent of education and experience
- Ability to read, write and speak French and English at an advanced level.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Strategic approach to problem solving
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to navigate emotionally charged situations
- Team player who can also work independently and take initiative
Additional Requirements
- Must reside in the Greater Saint John area
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
