About the Role

The Manager, ITS Operations is responsible for a broad range of activities to ensure the effective support and maintenance of the WCB's ITS operating environment. This work includes participating in defining SLAs with other departments, measuring performance against the SLAs, managing the change, release and incident management process for the operating environment, providing effective and efficient management of procurement and contract management processes, and providing for proper asset management for all technology assets, and reviewing and analysing existing infrastructure effectiveness and efficiency and develop strategies for improving/leveraging these systems.

The Manager, ITS Operations will maintain internal and external compliance, security awareness and accreditations related to the ITS operating environment; identify, assess, and communicate operational risks, and ensure effective communication to the organization regarding any pertinent activities. This role also conducts testing of disaster recovery plans.

The work of this role also includes analysing existing operations and making recommendations to improve and grow the current operating environment as well as collaborating with ITS leadership in project, operational, resource allocation, and strategic planning and forecasting activities. The Manager is also responsible for the planning and implementation of changes to the operating environment.

The Manager, ITS Operations provides leadership, guidance, direction, and support to the ITS Operations team. The role consists of a range of people management duties including recruitment and selection, scheduling, supervision, performance management, and employee development. The Manager sets appropriate team goals and objectives and leads the team in the achievement of them. This role is also responsible for budgeting, financial tracking, and issuing quotes for service when required.

Your Experience & Skills

  • University degree in Computer Science/Information Technology; or a degree in Business Administration combined with a certificate in business computing from an accredited Information Technology program (for consideration)
  • A minimum of seven (7) years related experience, with a minimum of three (3) years in progressively senior roles with demonstrated leadership accountabilities.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Business Computing from an accredited Information Technology program (2-3-year program)
  • A minimum of seven (7) years related experience, with a minimum of five (5) years in progressively senior roles with demonstrated leadership accountability.
  • Proven experience in contributing to the success of a range of significant ITS initiatives with above average levels of complexity and business criticality.
  • Proven experience leading medium to large multi-disciplinary teams and building a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating change.
  • Experience in a similar role in a Workers Compensation or similar environment is an asset.
  • PMP and ITIL Foundations certification are assets.

We offer a competitive compensation package ranging from $90,359 - $112,951.
