Drafter

Job Title: Drafter
Pay: $22
Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Shifts: Monday- Friday
Location: Chesterville, ON (IN-PERSON)

We're hiring a Drafter to work on site on behalf of a company specializing in modern design builds and fabrication. As a drafter, you will be responsible for supporting our senior architects in all aspects of the design process. This will include creating and modifying drawings, participating in design meetings, conducting site visits, and researching building materials and construction techniques. You will also be expected to assist in the preparation of construction documents and project specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Assist core design team & product team with the design and development of projects
• Create and modify architectural drawings using AutoCAD, Revit or other drafting software
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and document project progress as well as reviewing progress on production floor regularly
• Research building materials and construction techniques to ensure compliance with building codes and sustainability standards
• Assist in the preparation of construction documents and project specifications
• Assist with the preparation of RFP submissions and quotes
• Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure the successful completion of projects on time and within budget
• Attend design meetings and contribute to the development of project proposals
• Keep up to date with industry trends and developments in architectural design and sustainability practices
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in architectural design and drafting
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit or other drafting software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Knowledge of Canadian Building Code and sustainability practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable means of transportation to travel to Chesterville, ON area
