Continuing Care Assistant

Roseway Manor is a 66 bed long term care facility located in rural Shelburne, NS. We are currently searching for a compassionate and patient Continuing Care Assistant to join our team and provide essential care to the residents who reside at Roseway Manor. This role would involve assisting with daily activities and ensuring the well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities:

- Provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing

- Assist residents with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary

- Support individuals in a long term care setting

- Engage in assisting residents with eating and encouragement

- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care

Requirements:

- Completion of a Nova Scotia recognized CCA Certification or PLAR Program

- Will also accept those who are wishing to enroll in the PLAR Program

- Experience in a senior care or nursing home would be an asset

- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility needs

- Familiarity with providing emotional support

- Strong communication skills and empathy towards residents

- Willingness to work closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals.
