About the Role

This position (Cellarman) is part of the Brewhouse and Operations team at the Pump House Brewery, they will work alongside a dynamic team to help prepare exceptional beverages for consumption. This position consists of process work involving fermentation, yeast management, centrifuge/filtering beer, carbonating bright beer, cleaning & CIP's and setting up and transferring blending ingredients in the cellar section.

*** On-the-job training is offered for this position - no previous experience in a brewhouse is required ***

Job Responsibilities

  • Operating Centrifuge and D.E filter
  • Filling out/updating cellar logs
  • Carbonating beer in bright tanks
  • Conducting CIPs on Centrifuge/DE Filter, Fermentation tanks, Bright beer tanks, Totes and other vessels (involves dealing with concentrated solutions of Caustic, Acids and Sanitizers)
  • Oversee and perform General cleaning tasks, Housekeeping (foaming, scrubbing, cleaning floors, tanks vessels Etc.)
  • Maintaining aseptic condition during all operations (setting up hoses, pumps and other equipment, product transfers Etc.)
  • Responsible for diluting ethanol, blending and other cellar tasks related to ethanol beverages and any 'co-pack' products
  • Responsible for setup and sanitation of lines, hoses before the start of a Cellar Operation
  • Responsible for draining yeast from fermentation vessels
  • Check CO2 and dissolved oxygen levels of products
  • Check 'ABV' of products if Quality control personnel is not available
  • Ensure safe work practices, use of personal protective equipment
  • Assists in the packaging department when required
  • Other duties as assigned/required

Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • 1 to 2 years experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment
  • Forklift experience is an asset
  • Standing for long periods of time and able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Able to work Monday to Friday day shift and/or evening shift
  • Able to work weekends as required
