Summer Student - Recreation Therapy Assistant

About the job:

• Experience working with seniors with Dementia
• Good leisure programming skills for individuals with disabilities
• Experience delivering recreation programs
• Experience in Long Term Care an asset

Additional information:

• 35 Hours per week
• Term is for 14 weeks
• $18 per hour

Applicant must be between 15 to 30 years old at the start of employment.

To assist in the delivering leisure programs to residents in a long-term care setting. (taking for walks, portering to and from programs, community events, etc.)

To use a variety of social media avenues and working with emails to connect the residents with their love ones.

To work with the Recreation Therapy staff to address any responsive behaviours from our residents.

To document residents' participation and progress.

Any other related duties.

Experience working with seniors

Ability to facilitate leisure programs

Possess computer and social media skills (able to use Facebook, Skype, etc.)

Team player with a positive attitude

Gain practtical experience in working in long term care with seniors. Free parking.
