Job Title: Quality Assurance Consultant

Role Description:

As a Consultant at PQA Ltd., you will be involved in many phases of the software lifecycle, working closely with the development team from concept to completion.  As part of our team, you will be working on leading edge software development projects to provide our customers with innovative solutions.

General Responsibilities:

• Perform structured and context-driven (formal ad-hoc) functional software testing
• Produce documentation to support testing activities including test scripts/matrices and test data
• Use internal defect tracking and test case management system(s) to document test cases, record defects and record test case execution results
• Work directly with the clients to triage defects
• Extract testing requirements from functional specifications and business requirements
• Write test plans and test cases from functional specifications and from using the product
• Assist in training new team members and reviewing the quality of work prepared by more junior team members

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor of Computer Science or Computer Engineering; or software testing experience
• Knowledge of the software lifecycle
• 2 – 5 years experience as a Software Tester
• Experience writing test plans and test cases
• Familiarity with J2EE, web development, .NET and database technologies
• Knowledge of Java, C, C++, C# and SQL
• Test automation, performance testing and/or security testing experience would be beneficial

• Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and propose practical solutions
• Flexibility, self-motivation and the ability to give and receive feedback at all levels are required
• Strong management, interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to navigate and work through challenges with a positive attitude
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment
