About CARIS

CARIS develops and supports rigorous, technologically advanced geomatics software. Our systems give value to spatial data and empower our customers with information that is meaningful.

Integrity in business, recognition as experts, quality control, and dynamic customer relations are the distinguishing variables which ensure our ongoing success and that of our customers.

CARIS was at the forefront of the movement toward computer-aided cartography and mapping in 1979 and is surging geomatics technology further with its open, flexible Internet and database-driven technologies.

Today, CARIS offers a robust line of spatial information management software for customers across land, marine and software development applications.

Our product line enables customers to input, create and manage, and deliver consistently reliable spatial data information and products.

CARIS is a privately held Canadian company, with its head office in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The company has grown to include offices in the Netherlands and United States. Expansion plans continue as our client list continues to grow.

Further support is achieved through an international network of distributors working to provide CARIS expertise and first-line support around the globe.

CARIS Headquarters

Our global headquarters, located in beautiful Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada is situated next to lovely Odell Park, connected to running trails, is on a major bus route and offers free parking. Fredericton has been recognized as one of the top three cities to live in Canada and is proud to be acknowledged as one of the seven most intelligent communities in the world!

The Attraction

Physical Environment

In 2003, CARIS added a major new building to its head office complex, a third addition to the campus-like setting. This main building offers an open-concept design providing an interactive, team-oriented environment to encourage communication and idea sharing. Custom-designed, the facility features ten foot high windows across the entire front of the building through which employees can enjoy plenty of natural light and a peaceful view of Odell Park. The central location also provides employees easy access to numerous stores and services and to the City's walking trail system.

Team Environment

Together as a team, we accomplish more! Our organization is structured to be performance driven and client responsive. CARIS offers a team environment, where business causal attire is acceptable.

Social Atmosphere

CARIS has an employee-driven social committee. The committee organizes a variety of events throughout the year, including pizza and sub lunches; golf, chess and floor hockey tournaments; a winter carnival with sleigh rides, skiing and snowboarding, bowling and an ice sculpture contest; as well as an employee appreciation dinner event. Employees have access to a floor hockey rink onsite! The rink is also equipped with basketball nets and has been used for roller-blading and soccer (football for those from outside of North America).
